Formed in late 2024, The Velvet Tide bring together musicians with a rich history in Ireland’s alternative and folk scenes. Frontman Mick Lawlor (vocals, guitars) drives the band’s songwriting with raw lyrical honesty and an emotive guitar style.

Anchoring the low end, Ales Bajart (bass, vocals) provides both groove and harmony, his basslines giving the band its steady pulse while his vocals add depth to the group’s layered sound.

On violin and vocals, Eimear Lynch brings an ethereal dimension, weaving melodic folk traditions into the band’s darker rock textures. Rosie Callaghan (keys, accordion, vocals) adds a unique tonal palette, blending atmospheric keys with accordion warmth, balancing modern and traditional influences.

Finally, Anxo Silvera (drums, percussion) drives the rhythm with both intensity and subtlety, grounding the band’s dynamic range from brooding ballads to explosive climaxes.

Together, The Velvet Tide craft a sound that is haunting, powerful, and distinctively their own. With each member’s voice and instrument integral to the whole, their music thrives on contrasts—light and dark, tradition and modernity, tension and release.
